Meet Helena Fletcher

Helena is focused on working around real life subjects or issues, and takes a journalistic approach to design. She is passionate about people, relationships, and even more so by nature and animals, and her love of them greatly inspires her work. She tries to avoid the computer as much as possible, preferring a hand-crafted analogue approach, and photography and image-making are definitely her strong point. She would love to end up working somewhere in the BBC Nature department – we reckon she’s the next David Attenborough.

The projects shown here include a teaser show reel of some of her moving image work, some photographs from a project exploring the relationship between humans and nature, and a page from an experimental batch production project, where she manipulated a selection of people’s photo collections.

Helly will be showing a selection of moving image pieces at ‘Now What’, accompanied by some of her handmade books from previous projects, mainly showcasing photographic work. Visit her website to see more of her work.
